A Redbird Christmas by Fannie Flagg

2.0

I picked this book because I wanted to read something Christmas-y, but there was really only one other Christmas scene besides the ending. This book was way too "G rated" for me: too happy-go-lucky, unrealistically sweet, and seemed to be written on an elementary school reading level. The characters had little depth and were all of geriatric age-which I wouldn't mind if they were actually interesting. It was a decently enjoyable read at times and is definitely a "happy" book if that's what you're in the mood for, but I was expecting something deeper from the author of Fried Green Tomatoes.
