Never in my life have I ever wanted to set a book on fire after reading it while still giving it 5 stars faster. Connor Habib wrote a literary masterpiece subverting every one of your classic literary troupes.  Buckle up kids cause you’re in for a wild ride. 

As an ARDENT lover of Holden Caulfield and Catcher in the Rye I knew right from the cover of this book I was going to be in for an unforgettable story. Little to my knowledge did I know that I was going to be in for one man’s Narratorial descent from Holden Caulfield, to Norman Bates, to Poe’s  Tell Tale Heart ONLY FOR OUR NARRATOR TO END UP BEING THE ONE GASLIGHTING US THE ENTIRE TIME. This book is dark, untethered, and unhinged. The amount of times I audibly screamed, gasped, or panicked while reading this book (especially unexpectedly while I’m public) were honestly more than I could count. If you are needing to scratch the itch for a deeply unhinged descent into the mind of a walking red flag of a man, then sweetie, this one’s for you. Also, I hope that lid is air tight and incredibly thin on that cold night, Todd.
