I did actually like this more than I thought it would. In some cases I think the writing felt a little too flat a straightforward but the last 1/4 or so of the book is so action packed and the writing fits and made the book hard to put down. The found family got me good and honestly this didn't try to do anything annoying to be ~differenr~ so yes I'm on my way to get book 2 rn.
