Did not finish book. Stopped at 15%.

I think I'm getting too old for YA lol. I want more deft, layered characterization and I can see how the relationship between the two MCs is going to unfold from a mile away. I'm also thrown off by the tone—at points it's too modern, which disrupts my immersion. The worldbuilding is interesting and the foreshadowing of various plot ponts is almost enough to tempt me to go on...but meh. I don't like pushing myself to read when I don't have to.
