I was skeptical about this novel. It’s the first dark romance book I’ve read. There was action; there were multiple sex scenes; hell, there were some emotional moments that plucked my heartstrings lightly.
But, this book is all over the place. The pacing wasn't executed well. The 4 criminals (Diesel, Ryder, Kenzo, and Garett) felt very stereotypical. And, the main character was someone I couldn't resonate with.
I wish the author built the chemistry between the characters. It felt like she hated them in one chapter & liked them the next.
The erotic scenes were nice. Well, some of them. Others felt outlandish or nonsensical.
I liked the plot idea, but I disliked the execution.
