The Mapping of Love and Death by Jacqueline Winspear

5.0

This is one of my favorite historical mystery series, and I think this novel is one of the best. I appreciate that Maisie's character is growing and changing a lot here as she's beginning to find a new love and this sets it up for a career change. Set in London between WWI & WW2. Maisie's tasked with solving the mystery of an American killed in WWI when his body is discovered years later, with some letters to an unknown woman. The young man was a mapmaker, and I like how the author threads the analogies of the mapping throughout the book, more deep thinking than most mystery novels. Perfect novel for a rainy day.
