After the Funeral by Agatha Christie
3.0
This is an interesting, fun mystery with plenty of complex characters and red herrings. Poirot’s is not in the book until it’s about 30% over. So, there is a lot of filler. So, much background on the characters and too much set up. The ending is satisfying which saves the book, but it would be more enjoyable if Poirot showed up earlier. This is the same complaint I have with “The Hollow” and “Three Act Tragedy” if it’s a Poirot story, he needs to be there, not just in the background.
There is also a spoiler for “Lord Edgware Dies” #9 so beware.
