Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City, by Matthew Desmond

5.0

Desmond deserves so much respect. This work is brilliant and eye opening. The housing crisis is much more complicated than anyone realizes, and Desmond breaks it down for the average reader. For multiple years during the study, he lived amongst the people who shared their stories, which allowed him to gain valuable trust. The stories he shares are from people who trusted him as a friend, so there is so much to learn.
