4.5 stars Love coming back to Sapphire Cove and couldn’t get enough of Donnie + Richard’s unconventional love story!

Donnie Bascombe is a porn studio owner and former performer who’s created quite the reputation for himself but is so much more underneath that facade. He’s thoughtful and caring in ways many people overlook and he has a heart of gold when it comes to the people he cares about most. So, when his best friend Logan asks him to be his best man and to help plan the wedding, he’s intimidated and overwhelmed but also determined to do the best job he possibly can.

Richard Merriweather is recovering from a divorce…not really a broken heart but a damaged ego from everything that transpired. He’s one of the top event planners in the country and has made a name for himself working with celebrities and A-listers on everything from weddings to birthday parties and everything in between. He knows what he likes, has standards and wants to be cherished, something he’s been missing for all the years he was married. When the opportunity to open a new event planning office at Sapphire Cove comes up, along with the opportunity to plan the wedding of the year for Logan and Connor, he can’t pass it up.

While their first meeting was less than stellar for both of them, their unexpected pairing to work together on the wedding really ends up working out in their favor. They don’t really work on paper - Donnie is brash and unrefined and Richard is proper and put-together - but they complement each other so well, something that only increases as the story goes on. They have some preconceived notions to work through, but watching them stand up for each other time and time again and fighting for one another was heartwarming. Planning the wedding together sounded like their worst nightmare, but it turned into their own happily ever after along the way.

I didn’t love the addition of the Zack storyline - I had to take away half a star for how much it was drawn out but also how much it felt unnecessary by the end, just a way to add some extra drama. I love the Sapphire Cove crew and getting to see all of them happy along the way was everything. Logan and Connor’s wedding made my heart happy and I’m really crossing my fingers that Jonas finally get a book of his own after everything we learn about him here!
