On Spiritual Strivings: Transforming an African American Woman's Academic Life by Cynthia B. Dillard
5.0
What I loved most about this book was that it opened up something in me and in my academic work. It opens up a space for spirituality that moves beyond the womanist framing I often use, and it allows space for the transcendental, the sometimes unexplainable. I read this because I was stuck in my writing, but reading this work opened space for me to think anew. If you’re interested in Black feminism, womanism, woman of color feminism, etc., you need to read this book.
