The Villain, by L.J. Shen

4.0

Wow. What a real and eye opening story. LJ Shen has definitely become one of my favourite authors of 2020 and her latest, The Villain, once again made me feel emotionally connected to fictional characters!

Cillian, labelled the Villain by many, needs a bride. And who else to feel those shoes but the good-hearted, Persephone, who also is looking for her a knight in shining armour to save her from the debt of her ex-husband.
Only, Cillian is far from a Knight. He’s a lonely man with deep dark secrets, that only Persephone can and will find. With the biggest secret, defining why he is the villain and why he feels “nothing”. Except the feeling of love for Persephone (of course).

4/5 Stars.
The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is Cillian isn’t Hunter. Even though the raw reason behind why Cillian is so rude to Persephone and does push her away at first are revealed, I still felt mad at him for being disrespectful at unnecessary times to Persephone. If only he let her in 8 years earlier!
