Death Note, Volume 3, by Tsugumi Ohba
3.0
I did not enjoy this volume as much as Volume 1 & 2. The use of the Death Note went from a moral and global-political dilemma to one related to monetary power and social status, which I did not really care for (because that makes humans predictable, and who likes reading predictable stuff?). There was also less tension between Light and L; I'm still unsure about how I feel about this because I want them to develop an actual friendship, but I also want to see who will win this game of chess. The pace of this volume was a bit slow, and one of the things that kept me going was the humorous interactions between L, Light, and Misa. Hopefully, things will pick up a bit in the next one.
