Of course he causes some small town scandal and in order to save his biz rep and help out his snappy neighbor Blake who's house suddenly burned down π, he convinces her to fake date him.
Just pretend thingsβ’οΈ quickly start feeling real. But right when Blake thinks her life is finally turning around, Rowan's dark secrets come to light. π±
π what can I say besides WOW. I could really go on forever. I ate this book up start to finish.
π₯ I loved Nero Rowan & Blake. Nero was so used to getting women so easily but Blake always easily humbled him from the start (cackled every time). Their chemistry was fire from the very moment they met.
π€ Nero fell so hard. He was like a lovesick puppy. The little things he did for Blake ππ he just wanted to shower her in affection and show her what it's like to be worshiped and truly respected by her partner.
π₯° I adored Blake! She went through a lot and I just want her to be happy and thriving. She was mistreated by the male figures in her life previously so her trust was hard to earn. I'm glad she made it hard for Nero!
π€ When Nero let Old Neroβ’οΈ out to make decisions, it always ensued chaos. I see why he was the corn salad (Vincenzo reference)...but in terms of romance? Bit deranged, my guy.
π± I was certainly on the edge of my seat when the time came. Phew! I went through aaallll the emotions. Crying, dread, fear, more crying, bargaining, gasping. β€οΈβπ©Ή
