Booked for the Holidays by Chelsea Curto
4.0
This was my first book by Chelsea Curto and I was so pleasantly surprised by it! I was looking for a Hallmarky holiday read and was surprised by how much I enjoyed this one. It was a sweet slow burn (eventually spiced up!) that I just loved from page 1.
It had some of my fave tropes: grumpy/sunshine, small town and a surprise! single dad (I did not go in knowing he was a single parent).
I especially loved how natural the relationship developed between Bridget and Theo, going from casual store front neighbors to friends to lovers. It was so sweet to see the progression and I loved how she developed the relationship between Bridget and Mac.
My only bone to pick would be how often the word y’all was used. I know Bridget is from and lives in Florida and as someone who lived in Georgia for several years, I have used it myself. But I felt it was just a bit excessive and took me out of the story a few times.
Otherwise, a sweet and spicy romance with low angst! Perfect for a cozy weekend in front of the fire or the holiday decorations
