Did not finish book. Stopped at 9%.

I love was struggling to get through each page. I love fantasy books and I love mermaids and the world building but this one just felt like it was trying REALLY hard. There were parts that sounded interesting but for the most part I just felt really bored. It also doesn’t read like a young adult book. It feels very juvenile. Like a book you’d pick up in middle school.
