mysterious and interesting. after AGGTM, this book takes some of the consequences of the last and manages to be a consistent and coherent follow-up.
pip isn’t my favorite character - she can be a little insensitive to some of her co-characters (especially Nat!) and has inexplicably become an expert at police investigative procedures without development of those skills. i would have loved a chapter or two of her enjoying casual researching on investigations, just so her almost over-professional knowledge is explained better. that also would have made a fantastic contrast with the end, where she experiences this from a different side, as a direct witness. either way, pip’s mental health and the way it is discussed were very strong points in this book.
i enjoyed how the different characters were introduced and how a new mystery was developed without entirely neglecting the first. that was impressive and really immersive.
