Jeaniene Frost has finally given us a glimpse into the life of Ian, master vampire and sire of Bones. He is shameless, full of himself, and living a life full of sin. When he’s tracked down by the vampire’s equivalent of a cop, Veritas, things get heated. She’s on a mission to destroy a demon. He’s made more enemies than he can count, including the demon Veritas is hunting. This is the story of the two of them coming together to conquer this evil.
I will admit that I liked the idea of the bad boy vampire Ian falling in love. However, as interesting as Veritas’s backstory is, I was disappointed that demons were introduced so seriously into the world that Frost has built. It was a fast-paced story that was at times too much detail. Most of the sex scenes were overly violent - due to vampire powers - and I wasn’t a fan so I skipped a lot of it. It will be interesting to see where this new story arch leads.
