When the Sky Fell on Splendor by Emily Henry

4.0

Pros:

- Ohio!!!
- big group of friends
- dog!!!! (Who is the BEST girl)
- aliens???
- Teens on bikes!
- reminds me a bit of the last arc or so of TAZ Amnesty, if you take out the cryptids and world-gates.

Cons:
- slow build
- assumptions = truth, obviously
- ending was...eh.

Not a favorite, I expected the sci-fi to be a lot harder than it was. but I still enjoyed it and would probably recommend it as a book worth reading because I haven’t really come across a lot else like it.

*spoilers*

I was really pumped finding a new novel set in Ohio, especially because potential aliens?!?! The problem is, with aliens I either want aliens or a very elaborate hoax. The resolution to this was… very wishy-washy on that point. It’s not aliens, but it’s not NOT aliens. Ugh. That makes me sound like Arthur, lol.
