Earthcore by Scott Sigler

5.0

If there's one thing I learned from Scott Sigler's EARTHCORE, it's that I never want to go on a mining expedition. Joking aside, this is definitely a frightening and creative story packed with science, complex characters, and a nail-biting finale. Though most of the action in this behemoth of a book takes place in the second half, it's nonetheless interesting, especially if you like science of any kind. Most of the first half introduces us to the main characters, all of whom have glaring personality flaws and many of whom can't really be classified as "nice." And if they are... Well then you have never read a Scott Sigler book, my friend. As always, the descriptions and creatures created here are alarmingly visceral and make the situation all the more graphic and intense, especially at the ending. I've heard rumour there's a sequel coming along, and the epilogue definitely allows for that. I'm honestly super excited because I loved this book and really want to know what else could happen!
