Stupendous! I love Jesse Jacobs work, and I’m glad I finally got around to this one through the library. He’s endlessly creative in his details, and this book, like all his others, is chock full of so many bizarre, grotesque, wiggly wonders. It would be enough to simply gaze at the many smaller panels, evolving cycles, and variations, but the story is strong, too. I love the safari adventure, and the characters along for the ride. Hard to say enough good things about this maximalist illustration, and I hope to add this one to my bookshelf permanently someday!
