The Last Straw by Jeff Kinney

4.0

I still like the first entry in the Diary series the most. This one is another great sequel that the kids at my library have constantly been asking about. Greg hasn't learned a thing. Rowley is still a loveable doofus. Manny can't manage to grow up. The parents are still, well, parental. I have to say that the Shel Silverstein bit was absolutely perfect. I don't know how many times we at the library have commented on that terrifying picture of him. The way the book is set up, Kinney brings up Silverstein on a righthand page, leaving me to hope upon hope that on the next he has illustrated his own version of that scary author photo. Kinney did not disappoint, and the subsequent page-turning had me in hysteric giggles. If you liked the first two, you'll like this one as well.
