This book really surprised me. I think I anticipated it being a bit darker, but I love how it skirted on that edge without going too far. It made it feel more realistic.
Honey puts the magnifying glass on femininity and the sexualization of young women and is told through the lens of a turn of the century pop-star. But you don’t need to be a celebrity to relate to some of the themes in this book. I really couldn’t believe how seen I was made to feel while reading a story about a pop star. I loved witnessing Amber’s journey of self discovery at every step of the way, despite her flaws.
