There's so much to unpack with this book. Right off the bat, it started off way darker than I had expected. Very gritty and brutal throughout the whole story. Actions all have consequences and lasting effects - which I LOVED.

I kept picking up on little links and threads between the different POVs. It felt satisfying to connect the dots and the author leaves plenty of threads open to connect. Some are no doubt set up for the sequels, so there's likely still a lot left to discover.

I'm not sure I wholeheartedly enjoyed the audiobook narrator for the parts I listened to. Whilst it was useful to hear all the Nordic words pronounced, I wasn't the biggest fan of some of the voices.

My knowledge of Norse mythology is also... Non-existent pretty much. But this didn't hinder my reading experience hugely. Although, if something did go over my head, I don't suppose I would have even known.
