A perfect gritty fantasy/found family counterpart to Six of Crows. Kaz and the Crows are pulling off a big con and as much as he might hate it, he still needs every one of them to make it happen. I loved this book just as much as the first one, not least of all because it is mostly the pay-off for each of our main characters that they were struggling to achieve in book one. They're going to have to fight for their future and it makes the ending all the sweeter.

And no matter how many times we get Kaz's POV, we the reader still never see exactly how his plans are unfolding, which leads to some pleasant (and unpleasant) surprises. I love the way Leigh tells the Crows' stories and the attention she gives to each of them. The found family only gets stronger in this one, and each of the romances burn so slow and so good. Absolutely one of my favorite books. Cannot praise it enough.
