September 2016 - a new favorite! Ben loves filling in "one with a..." each time, and is appropriately melodramatic when we get to "...the shivers!" The suspense and the tight text work so well together. Each moment of danger is exciting for Ben, and he adds his own commentary and sound effects. Total hit. Not explicitly a Halloween book, but perfect for this time of year. Definitely his favorite book of the fall.
October 2017 - still a favorite this fall. I started running my finger along the words as a I read, since so many repeat, and although he's nowhere near actually reading, he's really connecting the words on the page with the words I read.
