a novel about the lives of six friends, their lives starting with when they were kids. one of them passes away and they must deal with the grief after the loss.
i don't really know how to accurately describe how beautiful woolf's writing here is. it's full of honest emotion and i love the way she approached it. the style is so enchanting and dreamy and really pulled me in. i loved how detailed and descriptive it was. i loved the references to nature and art.
i did giggle a bit while reading the childhood passages, purely because the thoughts they were 'having' as children aren't thoughts that many children would be capable of forming. just wasn't all too realistic. the pacing was also a bit questionable at times but i wasn't too bothered by it.
