I started reading this book series when the movie adaptation came out, I loved the movie and how different it was from other things I had watched, and I decided to read the first book. Unsurprisingly, I loved the book even more and read the whole original trilogy.

When it was announced that a second trilogy was to be published, it sounded interested, how the peculiars were goint to develop in the U.S.. Until this year I began reading the second trilogy, and I liked some aspects of them, they are light reads, you get to know many people from different cultural backgrounds (even though you do not see them develop much throughout the series).

Spoiler
This book for me was overall the same as the last 5 books, with only two exceptions, the first one is that some solutions that the characters needed to solve some kind of problem were, in my opinion, given to them out of nowhere, and the author tried to give an explanation for where those solutions come from but they felt forced.
The second one is that I did not feel the characters' growth as individuals.

But I must recognize that this is a childrens' book series so it is supposed to be enjoyed withouth much thought, and I liked it. I recommend it to whomever wants a light fantasy with kind of a unique world building.
