Tenth of December: Stories by George Saunders

4.0

This is the fourth short story collection I've read from Saunders. It was also my first attempt at reading Saunders years ago. I may have tried this collection at least three times before finally finishing it (some of the stories can be a bit challenging to read).

There doesn't seem to be as strong of a theme in this collection as there is in some of the other collections. However, you get the same Saunders: horrifying, ridiculous stories about the absurdities of American life with a dose of compassion. Standouts for me: "Victory Lap," "Escape from Spiderhead," and "My Chivalric Fiasco."
