100 Fathoms Below by Nicholas Kaufmann, Steven L. Kent
3.5
3.5 Glad to have toured the subs in San Diego - helped a chunk with making this book scarier while reading, I think. I loved the slow burn of the vamps and the sub atmosphere. For a short novel, all the characters were fleshed out enough for me, and I felt connected to them. The bad - the Soviet threat was sooo back burner it almost felt silly to include it. I also wish we got a taste of what the green eyed woman wants. It's clear they are smart and using a strategy, but why? If they didn't have a "leader" and human accomplices, it almost would have been better. Or flesh that out just a teensy bit for us. Regardless, it was a fun read that I enjoyed the audio for a lot.
