A wonderful visual exploration of death, grief and self. The water and bird imagery was consistent and grounded me throughout the entire collection, yet always managed to surprise and enchant me. Some poems deeply resonated with me; and I felt at once humbled in the view of my own experiences of grief, but also opened me out to, as it were, a communal emotion and experience. Other poems left me lost, but I was able to enjoy their structure, imagery and rhythm.

Yes, I read all of these out loud and found I enjoyed them even more.
