So ne'ermind the fact that Fejo is pretty much a space pirate (how cool is that???) but he's such an incredibly wholesome being.

"He tried to act like that was something to look forward to, but in reality, he was tired of being used and toyed with. Vanessa wanted to pick him. And he wouldn't mess up that opportunity.

WHOLESOME, RIGHT? Characters like him make my heart ache, who hide their loneliness and want to be loved under masks. And the way he kept adjusting bits of his outward portrayal in case Vanessa liked a certain manner more to ensure she'd still want him -- just ahsjowoxhwosodk 😩😩😩

Not just him, but Vanessa too has her own insecurities and didn't feel as if anyone could handle her because of her personality. She and Fejo are such a great fit.

"Curling blue markings almost identical to his own... ran over both her hands. "I had Vrok tattoo them...."

I LITERALLY MELTED. This was the sweetest thing cause for 4 straight books now, all that is ever mentioned is how the Clenacians feel the mating bond blah blah blah. Which, yes, it's great their mates love them back, but imagine being the only one the bond TRULY affects and should their mate stop loving them one day, there's nothing they can do. And with what Fejo's been through - all the manipulation of his feelings - I absolutely love that Vanessa displayed her love for him like this.

AND MIA IS SUCH AN ADORABLE LITTLE BEAN. I was wondering if they'd ever get back on Earth, giving the law and all, and I'm glad we got a bit of that in this book.

This book is a solid 5/5 for me. Easily. I was torn between Theo/Jade and Auzzy/Alex being my favorite couple..... buuut Vanessa/Fejo definitely wins top place as of right now.
