The Cat and the City by Nick Bradley

4.0

I didn't know what to expect from this and i didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did.

Each story is unique and different and you find yourself quickly immersed into each character's life. You see Tokyo through different perspectives and I almost feel like I've visited the city myself after this. I enjoyed the engagement I had with each character and that I didn't, and wasn't supposed to, like them all. The personalities were broad and it truly felt like a collection of a series of a people living in Tokyo rather than the same person copied and pasted in different scenarios.

I'm also impressed with the different genres within the book. Bradley manages to include the likes of sci-fi and magical realism within this contemporary piece of work.

All in all, it was a book I really enjoyed and would readily read again.
