Hunger: A Memoir of (My) Body by Roxane Gay

Roxane Gay’s writing is poignant and compelling. I enjoyed hearing her voice as she read the audiobook, too. The frankness with which she describes the challenges of moving through the world that is not built for bodies like hers - wow. The clear-eyed way she recounts the central traumatic event of her youth, and then the various ways she attempted to cope with it as a young person - wow. This book is well done, and you should read it.
