How to Repair a Mechanical Heart by J.C. Lillis

5.0

My god...this book. Just...it was so awesome. If you loved Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell then this book was even better. So much better, I'm not even kidding.

Lets start with Brandon and Abel. They're great characters, both totally different but you see how their friendship and growing romance works. Sometimes they can be dicks online, I was tutting about them insulting fic but then I remembered I laughed over a friend's recording of her reading a fic of a popular ship we hate and her mocking the heck out of it so I actually can't judge. Anyway Abandon's romance had the perfect build up and I liked them both. Oh and Bec was super awesome too but Miss Maxima seriously made me cringe.

Next point is the fandom. Thank god, the book seriously got fandom right. Squealing, some really cringe-worthy fans, FJ (LJ really, we all know it) and shippy comments and vlogs and cons and RPS . I'll admit to cringing in some places but sad thing is I know some of those moments do happen, it's just still weird.

This book was amazing and funny as anything and everyone must read it.
