The Second Mango by Shira Glassman

5.0

Sweet and wholesome and filling (...like a mango.) While other readers' criticisms of an idealistic narrative are true observations, it's like faulting a Disney movie or a lavishly illustrated children's book for the same -- this book, with its lighthearted tale, lovable characters and comfortingly 'fuzzy' moments, is a for-us-grownups counterpart of those things. It was like a salve to read, speaking as someone who normally goes for dark and complex stories and found this a welcome contrast. I feel healed!
