The Break-Up Artist by Laura Lovely, Erin Clark
Did not finish book. Stopped at 50%.
I struggled with Z not owning up to being the letter writer once she figured it out but it was the dad that made me rage quit. Idc how old your child is as a parent you have a responsibility and this “I’m not good alone I need a wife” was too “gender role norms” for me, and the way he berated her was disgusting. I didn’t even try to keep reading after the things he said to her. Any parent willing to abuse -yes abuse- their child because they aren’t ok with how fast you moved on is gross. Zero responsibility for his children’s needs, totally ignored his daughters’ pain and grief and it was a huge no go for me.
Graphic: Ableism, Emotional abuse, Misogyny, Toxic relationship, Grief, Death of parent, and Gaslighting
