One of Us by Tawni O'Dell

3.0

I have relished every one of Tawni O'Dell's previous books. Maybe that's why I'm disappointed by One of Us.

The serious minded precocity from poverty and manipulative millionaire characters this author usually choreographs so well have less dimension and likability this time around.

There are still some gem-like sentences and keen observations in this novel, it simply doesn't sparkle and catch light they way her other books do.

I'll still pick up any future books Ms. O'Dell writes.
