The Ark by Boyd Morrison

3.0

This is a thriller in the mode of James Rollins, Clive Cussler et al, involving a complicated plot, some nifty science, a little history, an evil group with a plan to take over the earth and a strong, damaged hero who solves the riddle and saves the world with the help of a beautiful exotic intelligent woman. Much of the book is derivative but the writing was quite good and it was a fun beach read. I don't think book groups are going to spend hours discussing the hidden meaning but I enjoyed the read. I'm giving it 4 stars based on its quality within its genre but don't think I'm comparing it to some of the truly great 4 star works of literature I've rated in the past.
