Sweet Temptation by Cora Reilly

4.0

I truly thought this book would be 5/5 but after much consideration it came down to a 4 1/2 stars for me. This book is really good. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The reason I could not give it a 5/5 is because of the fact that the kids are not biologically Cassio’s.

Can someone explain why in a lot of age gap books someone is always fucking their brother? That is a trend I have seen in MANY. Is that a requirement for age gaps? The main two characters do not necessary have to be related but someone in the book is fucking their brother. It’s like a lot of authors sit down to write age gap and say “this is great..let’s throw some incest in there as the cherry on top”.

Luckily in this book it is not so harsh of a topic. They basically mention it here and there but it’s not the main plot of the book. What would have made this book 5/5 is if in the end they found out the father was lying and the kids were actually Cassio’s or if the father was never involved and Cassio did the test himself and it showed that he was the biological father. Sadly that did not happen.

That situation aside I really did love the books the story was great. The characters were great. I found out that this is like a spin off/ stand-alone to an entire series that I have added to my TBR list. I will say that the time changes in this book threw me off a little but that may be because I listened to the audiobook rather than read a physical copy.

All in all, I would 100% recommend and would definitely read again.
