It felt like reading a Caraval fanfiction. I enjoyed it. It was entertaining.
I can't say I loved the sibling dynamic. It felt forced and obligatory. I do think Zosa had potential to be an important character, was she not a bird for 90% of the book 😭 I could not care less about Zosa. Sorry not sorry.
They could have given the birds more character. I know that sounds stupid but it makes sense when you read it. I think the middle could have been paced faster and the end could have been paced slower/gone more in depth.
Predicted most of the plot twists very early on but who is surprised.
