The Justice of Kings by Richard Swan
3.0
Some good writing here for a debut novel.
The title and book cover reeled me in and even though I thought it would be huge battles between countries, it was not and was more about working out whodunnit in a fantasy world setting.
I didn’t feel for any of the characters unfortunately and found Helena to act like a petulant child in the best of them which then made her narrative questionable.
I will read on to see what it’s all about and hopefully I get a bit more from the sequel in terms of world building and character development. The last 10% for me was where the plot was really at and then the ending being nice and fitting . No surprises.
