Two Girls of Gettysburg by Lisa M. Klein

4.0

Seriously I wasn't expecting much since I expected another deflated historical fiction that didn't get its facts right with flat characters and a boring storyline. Boy did it trick me!
Two Girls of Gettysburg was thrilling and a wonderful read. The main characters Lizzie and Rosanna was both different and very loving in every way. Rosanna was slightly more fragile and girlier but her side of things was understandable as was her brief romance with her husband, who I really didn't like, John. I don't like her parents, who were stupid prideful people but I loved her sister and the kids, John and Claire. Lizzie was brave and independent, she could a manage a shop all on her own. I loved Martin to pieces, and I loved Luke when he had been conditioned by the army, her fragile Mother was fragile to a likeable state and the funny little Ben. It was a very good book that I recommend to all historical fiction readers. Lovers of The Queen's Daughter will like this.
