While this book is somewhat charming it also felt very desolate and sad. Then we begin to read the journal's of another person and the entire tone changes. Reading the journal entries about bowel movements was just unpleasant. However, I was captivated by the character of Guylain and his two friends so I kept reading. I didn’t love it and I didn’t hate it.
