A Likely Story by Jenn McKinlay

3.0

This is my favorite setting of a murder in the entire series. Lindsey and Sully go to deliver some library books to 2 patrons who are homebound on the thumb islands. When they show up, one of the brothers has been murdered and the other one missing. However, the things we learn about on the island with all the clutter that has been horded, a scene where they find themselves in the house hiding and being chased and the information we learn about some of the items from 2 men who come to town to possibly buy some antiques is so interesting. I think the more the series goes on, the more the author puts Lindsey in more dangerous situations...and it is edging towards the improbable to understand and non-reality. However, the entertainment of the love triangle keeps the books going very well. At this point in the series, a reader certainly keeps reading because they have fallen in love with the main characters and also want to live in briarcreek.
