I thought this book would be a realistic description of poverty. Instead it describes a girl who judges everyone around her, and ultimately chooses a toxic, criminal guy who lied to her on multiple occasions to get her into bed, rather than her family who has been nothing but supportive of her. Once again Hoover romanticises toxic relationships. Good job.

The only positive thing is that it’s an extremely fast and easy read, especially for non-native speakers.
