This was my first Bernard Cornwell book. I don't think I will attempt another one.
Sadly I couldn't finish it. I found the characters one dimensional being either sickly sweet or downright evil with no in between.
The heroine was far too trusting and just plain daft, and the never ending dastardly deeds committed by the baddies just got tedious and boring.
I just had to give up this book in the end as it was annoying me.
