From This Moment by Melanie Harlow

I waited too long to read this story, don’t make that mistake!

I didn’t read this book initially when I read the After We Fall Series. It wasn’t immediately clear what the connection to the series was, and the topic covered in the book made me very hesitant. A woman having feelings for her dead husband’s identical twin. Combine that with some reviews I now adamently disagree with, and I waited almost a year to finally finish the series. Only doing it as I have only a few reads to finish all of Melanie Harlow’s books. I SHOULD HAVE READ THIS SOONER!

The topic is tough, and the loss is addressed early. This makes this book a little heavier than some of her others. A lot of reviews said the heroine Hannah was whiny. I thought it was a fantastic portrayal of a grieving widow, a woman feeling lost in her life. I would have been disappointed if she wasn’t so torn, conflicted, and confused. She was real, and I loved her character. Wes’s love, wow. The second chance, the dedication, the growth of his character. It was everything. I think Wes needs a little more love as a swoony Harlow Hero, because I loved him.

The connection to the series is through Valentini Farms, and Hannah working there. You get to revisit Georgia, Pete, Margot and Jack from After We Fall, and I LOVED the connection. I really enjoyed this novel. If you like Melanie’s books, trust she will take care of you with this story.
