Just Kids by Patti Smith

3.0

okay i knew absolutely nothing about patti smith before reading this book and i think not knowing the ending/her career path was a big motivator in me finishing this book despite it being a struggle. this book was really interesting and intriguing at some parts and then others it was hard to read more then a few pages in a sitting. i was really hooked in the beginning and enjoyed the simplicity of the her writing but then it just continued like that the whole book. i felt half of the book was a continuous list of what smith did throughout the days, without any excitement or flare. i did think the way she wrote about her relationship with robert was very intricate and i enjoyed reading the parts about her reflecting on that time but it was just so slow in some parts. i think the ending of the book was my favorite because it was more reflecting then just describing her life. did make me have thought about living in nyc though, which i have never considered lol. overall, would still recommend but definitely a slow read.
