The Name of the Wind, by Patrick Rothfuss

5.0

What a great adventure - it left me wanting more. In fact, so much so that I don't consider this a complete novel - just an opening salvo.

Rothfuss does a masterful job at world-building and scattering bits of knowledge of this world in an unobtrusive way. Before you realize it, you are well-versed in the different races, kingdoms, languages, and customs of this realm. High fantasy and expert crafting in one - fantastic in the true sense of the word.

I picked up this book because a fellow Jim Butcher fan told me I would love it. They weren't wrong. I wish my first novel was this good!
