The Psychology of Time Travel by Kate Mascarenhas
medium-paced
- Loveable characters? It's complicated
- Diverse cast of characters? Yes
3.75
'Where are you going?'
'My therapist's being tried for murder, and I have to be fired by the Conclave!'
'What?'
'I have to be somewhere! I'll call you!'
time travel x murder mystery x mental health x wlw subplot
I‘m not entirely sure how I feel about this book but it’s an interesting concept, different than I expected (not in a bad way) & mysterious
I struggled to remember how all the characters were related (especially once I found out Fay was Ginger‘s daughter - I still don’t fully understand that; it seems to be a coincidence that neither Ruby nor Fay are aware of? ) but I still enjoyed the book
I think there were a couple of (minor) inconsistencies, or maybe I just didn’t understand everything - both of which is probably inevitable in a book about time travel + this is a debut novel, so if anything it’s really impressive
Graphic: Death and Self harm
Moderate: Body horror, Eating disorder, Mental illness, and Grief
Minor: Cancer, Vomit, and Suicide attempt
